Double-hand Poker is a current game with old ancestry. Based on the ancient Chinese domino game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker bands together the far east with the western in an excellent game for new gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player versus the casino, unlike most other poker games that gamblers wager with other gamblers. By competing against the dealer, beginner players do not need to be concerned about any other, more experienced players winning their moolla.

A further Pai Gow benefit is the relatively slow game play, novices should be able to take their time and strategize without needing to make frenzied selections.

It is also easier to enjoy for a long time with only a small bit of money seeing as, to lose, each of your hands has to be under both of the houses hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card common deck and a single joker. The gambler is assigned 7 cards face up and the dealer is given seven cards face down.

A 5 card hand and a 2 card hand must be made from the seven cards, the 5 card hand must be better than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand totals to be larger than the casino’s.
