Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only player to make it to the last poker table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. He won a big pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest players around the world. While playing internet poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. Gus regularly participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus usually buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I know Hansen is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has little or no reason to play at the table with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the minimum takes most of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is supposed to be 1 of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full amt.. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might be guys you have never heard of. Gus can be found wagering on web poker on Full Tilt. He commonly plays in high stakes omaha hold’em and texas holdem. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his abilities in cash games?
